Description
Charles G. Shepard and Peter Adams for Shepard Hardware Company, American. Cast iron and pigment "Mason Bank" mechanical coin bank, ca. 1887. Depicting two masons building a wall. When the level along the side is pressed, the standing figure moves his shovel to allow the coin to fall into the bank; the figure behind the wall raises their arms to depict them laying brick and mortar. Marked along the sides. The door along the underside is present and locked; no key included.

Condition
The bank functions. Numerous losses to the paint and wear throughout the bank as expected from age and use. The standing figure is slightly loose. The door along the underside is locked and cannot be opened; no key included.
