Description
North America, United States, ca. late 19th century CE. A huge bowie knife with a substantial wooden handle, a thick, curved hand guard, and a twin-lobed, upturned thumb rest. The steel blade has a thick spine, a curved beveled edge, and a lengthy sharpened blade which widens slightly near the shoulder just beneath the hand guard. Size: 17.25" L (43.8 cm).

Expected surface wear commensurate with age, with oxidation to most of blade and hand guard. A couple of small cracks to handle, and small nicks to hand guard, otherwise intact and very good.
