Description
The lot features an authentic late 1800's harness saddle leather knife sheath with wonderful brass trade tacked design and a large trade knife. The piece is attributed to the Crow Native American Indians and both date to the late 19th century. The set shows proper signs of age and use. The piece was pictured in the 2009 publication/book "The Mark Francis Collection of American Indian Art" by Mark Francis page 66 figure 112. The item was acquired from Sherwood's Spirit of America Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Truly an excellent terrific authentic example. The knife measures 13" in length with the sheath being 13"L
