18th Century Chinese Qing Dynasty gilt bronze cloisonne trinket box cast in rectangular shaped body with rounded corners, gilt bronze banded on the rim and foot. The lid framed a jade plaque, open-work carved with two scholars and attendant seated amidst dense of shading tree and rockworks. The box decorated in cloisonne works of colorful floral and foliate over the pale-turquoise blue ground.


Mark on base, an embossed four script -KaiShu- characters reign mark, enclosed within square frame border, QianLong Reign Period.

PROVENANCE:
From The Private Collections of Jean-Pierre Bradley. This special group of items were bought from an estate sale, the consignors were told that these items came from the first wife (pictured) of Jean-Pierre Bradley. Born in France and left in 1936 to become a long time resident from Georgia. A graduate of MIT in Electrical engineering was recruited to be involved in the initial planning of the first US ICBM. Throughout his life he had the opportunity to travel extensively . His travels led him to many foreign countries where he would buy treasures for his beloved wife. These items are believed to be a small part of the treasures he invested in. The Jean-Pierre Bradley's collections can be found from Lot-133 through Lot-174.

Excellent condition, No missing wiring, all inlays are intact, with normal anomalies in nature, sign of stressed surface, minor scratch & dent. Surface traced wear and or declined to gilding. Normal, considering ages and wears.
