This is the 1993 Sobunsha (Tokyo) publication of Akira Isobe’s A Study of the History of the Hsi-yu chi (518 pages, plus appendix), with all text in Japanese, excepting an additional title and table of contents in English.
This is volume 41 in the Oriental Studies Library.
This copy, in its original slipcase, is in fine condition, inside and out. The salmon-colored cover is clean, unfaded, and without tears. The spine is straight and the lettering is as new. The inside is without any notable flaws. There are no stamps, or other attachments. There is no writing. The binding is tight, with no loose or missing pages.
All the text, and the in-page illustrations, are unfaded and clean. The twelve pages of color illustrations are in perfect condition.
