First American Edition by Alfred A. Knopf, 1991.
Jean-Jacques Sempe (French, 1932 â€“ 2022), drew more than 100 covers for The New Yorker Magazine from 1978 till 2022, and was a cartoonist beloved in France and around the world.
Sempe is the author of about thirty albums and the childrens series Le Petit Nicolas. He drew for L' Express, Telerama, The New Yorker and exhibited his drawings and watercolors in Munich, New York, London and Salzburg.
