Description
An Olmec or Olmec-style green jadeite figurine, standing on flat-bottomed feet with his hands on or in front of his hips, fingers and toes delineated by lines, carved smoothly and flowingly with no modern tool marks visible to the naked eye nor touch, with features and treatments perhaps indicating its origin in an outlying or provincial Olmec region, Mexico, age and authenticity likely but unproven, showing typical Olmec drilling-then-working methodology on the eyes, wide nose, wide mouth, and ears, the drill holes being quite deep, 2.5"h. Property from the collection of Dr. Jerome and Mrs. Evelyn Oremland, Sausalito, CA
