Provenance: Dr. Bob Brictson Estate
Lot Essay: Calixte joined the Centre d'Art in the mid 1950s. Drawn to architecture, his forms and figures are presented in or surrounded by his favorite greens and blues. As with Max Pinchinat, Calixte was interested in re-imaging cubism and used a brush and palette knife in much of his work.
