Description
A large Egyptian faience ushabti, Late Period, 30th Dynasty, c. 343 - 332 BC, depicted mummiform standing on integral base, wearing striated tripartite wig with false beard, arms folded at chest, hands holding a pick and a hoe, basket over left shoulder, vertical plinth down back and 10 lines of hieroglyphic text down the front and side of the legs. A handsome piece with light green glaze remaining. H: 8 1/2 in (21.6 cm). Ex important Southern California private collection of Egyptian antiquities.
