Pair of Barbedienne Neo-Grec Bronze and Marble "Medici Urns"
third quarter 19th century, French, each inscribed "F. Barbedienne" along front edge of self-base, after the 1st century CE Greek original excavated at the Villa Medici in Rome and now conserved at the Uffizi Gallery, Florence, the urns decorated with bas-relief classical figures and set with scrolled handles with incised decoration, on molded red griotte marble bases.
