Description
Dubois & Warriner (American (New York)1850-1852), circa 1850-1852. An American rare and museum-quality square grand piano in rosewood having hinged top and fancy pierced music stand over a D-end molded case enhanced with ripple molding and resting on massive faceted octagonal faceted baluster form legs ending in casters. The interior above the 78 keys stamped in gilt "Dubois & Warriner New York" . The sound board is also decorated with inlaid mother of pearl. Piano is accompanied by an adjusting piano stool. Approximate height 36.5", width 73.25", depth 33.75". Note: William Dubois’ pianos are considered museum-quality and was one of the most renowned names in the piano industry in 19th Century. Dubois began his career as importer, retailer and music publisher back in 1813 in New York City. From 1850 to 1852, Dubois partnered with Daniel C. Warriner, first at 315 Broadway, then at 300.
