Description
An Egyptian carnelian cartouche-shaped bead, c. 1570 - 30 BC, in lovely banded stone with good color, the sides well-polished with hole drilled lengthwise for suspension. H: 1 1/5 in (3cm). Ex Boston Museum of Fine Arts, de-accession; previously in the collection of Horace L. Mayer who loaned and gifted items to the museum throughout the 1930's-60's. After his passing much of his remaining collection was gifted to the museum.
