Description
A group of Egyptian faience beads, 3rd Intermediate - Late Period, c. 1075 - 332 BC, including a strand intermixed with loose beads. The group is primarily comprised of thick deep blue tubular beads, a few are wide and flattened, and some off-white faience disc beads. A nice group with vibrant color. Largest bead 1 3/4 in (4.5 cm). Ex estate of Maria (Lila) Decatur Mayo Deyo Garnett, niece of Ruth Deyo; Ex collection of Ruth Deyo, acquired early-mid 1900's. Mrs. Deyo was a world-renowned musician and personality, well-known for her appreciation of Egyptian culture.
