Hemon Paris patinated bronze figural mantel clock, late 19th century, featuring a large figure of the Carthaginian general Hannibal seated on a square clock case among the ruins of the city of Carthage with his helmet at his feet, the clock having a gilt bronze oak leaf and acorn wreath bezel around a brass dial with Roman numeral markers and Breguet style hands, resting on an Empire style gilt and patinated bronze base fronted by an applied gilt military trophy depicting a Roman helmet, spears, and bow entwined with trailing ivy, the whole rising on gilt out swept feet, the movement signed 'Hemon Paris,' clock, 20.25"h x 18.5"w x 8"d, base, 10.25"h x 23"w x 10.5"d.
