19th century, works stamped 'Patent/Ansonia.../New York', gilt bronze and enamel dial with Roman numerals set in gilt bronze case with elaborate scrollwork decoration, hinged beveled glass front panel, atop a patinated bronze elephant on gilt bronze scrolled base, surmounted by a rider with a parasol, 22 x 16 x 8-1/2 in.

Condition
surface dirt, scattered areas of spotting and discoloration to bronze, some small areas of verdigris (especially at parasol element, rider, and upper scrollwork sections), possibly lacking back panel covering works, not tested for functionality
