Pre-Columbian, Peru, Chancay, ca. 1300 to 1450 CE A very large and carefully made gauze textile panel comprised of cotton threads of tawny almond and creamy beige hues, woven and knotted (somewhat akin to tatting) into a repeated pattern featuring registers set on a diagonal and featuring stepped as well as dotted diamond motifs. The textiles of Peru demonstrate immense artistic and technical developments achieved by the Andean civilizations. Size: 43" L x 40" W (109.2 cm x 101.6 cm)
