Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A sweet ensemble of six miniature terracotta figures, including three redware drummers, two blackware seated figures, and one redware seated sheepface figure holding his protruding nose with both hands. An adorable group from the ancients of West Mexico that truly put the 'mini' in miniature! Size: each one measures approximately 1.25" H (3.2 cm)
Provenance: private Stagecoach, Nevada, USA collection; acquired from 1985 to present from galleries such as Arte Primitivo, Art For Eternity, Butterfields, and Riverbend Gallery
