Description
One page 8vo autograph letter signed "Mary C. Harsha," Harshaville, Pa., December 4, 1863. Addressed to "Dear Soldier" Harsha writes: "I send you this housewife to help you mend your clothes. If you were here I would mend them myself. Perhaps you have a kind mother or sister who would mend them for you too, but they are far away. When you get this think of them and me and please write to all. Perhaps you are sick or in the hospital. Perhaps you may die in battle soon or take sick and die. Are you ready to die. Do you love Jesus with all your heart and do you read your bible and pray every day. If you do not let me ask you to do so. This is from a friend of every good soldier..."
