Publisher's black cloth, lettered in gilt; in the original yellow dust jacket, lettered in black. Very good, with a slight lean and some dimming to the spine, light wear to the spine ends, minor offsetting to the endpapers, otherwise clean interior; unclipped dust jacket (no price stated), with some losses to the spine ends and edges of the panels, closed tear with tape reinforcements to the rear panel, closed tear to the rear flap fold, light toning to the spine, minor soiling to the wrappers. Overall, a very presentable copy, signed by Millay. Yost 19. The first issue of the first edition of Harp-Weaver was published in November of 1923 and is designated by the publisher's code "K-X". Later printings have a different code and the addition of the publisher's name to the foot of the spine. While the publisher's name is present on this copy, the correct publication code confirms it is a first edition; most likely the publishers added their name to new bindings being used for the second issue and these bindings were used for first-issue text blocks after the bindings without the publisher's names were all used. The Harp-Weaver and Other Poems is a collection of sixty-eight of Millay's poems, many of which were previously unpublished in book form. Specifically, this volume includes "My Heart, Being Hungry," "The Ballad of the Harp-Weaver," "Memory of Cape Cod," and "A Visit to the Asylum," in addition to nearly forty untitled sonnets. Notably, the "The Ballad of the Harp-Weaver," first published in 1922, won Millay the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1923.
