ENGLISH TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC PLATES, LOT OF FOUR, including one marked "MIDDLESBRO POTTERY" as for the Middlesbro Pottery Company established in Middlesbrough-on-Tees in 1831, in the "WILD ROSE" pattern as printed on base; one impressed for Wedgwood and printed "ETRURIA" having figures in the foreground, a house and landscape with floral border; and one with "SHELTER'D PEASANTS" pattern as printed on base. Two unmarked. Staffordshire and other areas. Second quarter 19th century. 9 3/8" to 10" D.
Chip on underside of rim on Wedgwood plate and one on underside of rim on "SHELTER'D PEASANTS" plate.
