ENGLISH COPPER LUSTRE TRANSFER-PRINTED AMERICAN HISTORICAL CERAMIC PITCHER, having a yellow ground around the middle with black transfer-printed design of Lafayette on one side and Cornwallis "Resigning his Sword at York Town Oc.19.1781" on the opposite, copper lustre at top and bottom. Unmarked. Staffordshire and other areas. Circa 1825. 5 3/8" H.
Undamaged with wear to printed and enamel designs. Manufacturing flaw on interior rim of spout covered with glaze.
Provenance: From the collection of Dr. Leonard and Mimi Levine, VA.
