Description
Pete Conrad (American, 1930-1999)
Alan Bean and lunar footprints leading to the burn-out TV camera, EVA 1, Apollo 12, November 1969. Vintage chromogenic print on fiber-based Kodak paper with 'A Kodak Paper' watermark on the verso, image size 9 5/8 x 7 5/8 in. (24.3 x 19.2 cm), unmatted.
Condition: Good.
N.B. Live television coverage was unfortunately lost early in the mission when Bean accidentally pointed the TV camera at the sun during transfer from the LM. Thus the Hasselblad photographs taken by the crew are the only visual records of their lunar surface activities. Here, Bean is shown taking close-up photographs of the LM Intrepid (not visible in the image). The NASA negative number is AS12-46-6780.
Literature: Jacobs, p. 75.
Estimate $400-600
