Description
Ancient Egypt, Amarna Period, ca. 1352 to 1336 BCE. A curved piece of pottery, probably a fragment from the side of a large vessel, with a motif of a lotus and palmettes on a gorgeous blue background, with black outlines and white details. This fragment is similar to artistic depictions of the same motifs from the Amarna-period tomb-chapel of Nebamun which depicts the wealthy official and his wife in the marshes along the banks of the Nile with naturalistic fauna and flora. Size: 6.5" W x 4.65" H (16.5 cm x 11.8 cm); 6.55" H (16.6 cm) on included custom stand.
