Description
CHINESE EYEGLASSES AND CASES, LOT OF TWO, comprising one pair having folding horn-rimmed glasses, round boxwood case carved with the God of Longevity riding his deer; and one pair with horn rims and temple pads, case elliptical shape of carved boxwood with carving on front showing a scholar and servant, on the back of the case is a poem in remembrance of a father. Second half 19th/early 20th century. 2 1/4" D and 6" L, 2.5" D.
Good condition overall with some expected wear from use on cases, one small area of loss on one edge of one case, one lens on one pair of glasses shifted but not out, and one pair with one cracked edge of lens, some crazing on horn surfaces.
