Description
A VICTORIAN STERLING SILVER AND CUT GLASS INKSTAND, WILLIAM MAMMATT & SON AND DANIEL GEORGE COLLINS, SHEFFIELD, 1897-1898, the boat shape under tray with cast acanthus leaf and scroll border raised on tapering reeded feet by Daniel George Collins of Sheffield and London, hallmarked for 1898, with attached cut crystal ink pots with hinged lids and trays by William Mammatt & Son of Sheffield, hallmarked for 1897, all pieces fully hallmarked, the tray with engraved maker's name and location, total approximate weight: 14.07 troy ounces. Height: 3 5/8" Width: 12 1/4" Depth: 6"
Condition
The under tray with one slightly pushed in leg and crease at the center of one side, the inkpots with minor chips to the glass, one hinge lacking.
