Eva Zeisel, a rare bird-form Fruit Basket or Sauce Boat, Eva Zeisel Fine Stoneware/Hi-Fi Stoneware, Hollydale Pottery, South Gate, California, 1957. Glazed entirely in Largo Brown with eyes in Allegro Yellow. Unmarked. Height 7 3/4 in. (19.5 cm).
The Hi-Fi (i.e., High Fire) Stoneware line was advertised as having been “made in stoneware in colors never used in that medium.” Long Beach Independent Press-Telegram, March 17, 1957, p. 36.
