Description
Eva Zeisel, A group of four pieces from Monmouth Pottery, Western Stoneware Company's Eva Zeisel Fine Stoneware, Monmouth, Illinois, circa 1953-1954, Colonial decoration pattern, comprising one small Bowl, one medium Bowl, one Luncheon Plate, and one Dinner Plate. With standard blue backstamps on the Plates and medium Bowl. Height of Bowl: 3 1/4 in. (8.5 cm); dia. of Bowl: 7 in. (18 cm). Dia. of Plate: 11 1/4 in. (28.5 cm). 1620-083
Provenance: Estate of Bette Cooper
Note: Bette Cooper, co-author of Monmouth Western Stoneware (1983), was an unofficial archivist for the factory and collected examples of these works, including test pieces, as they came off the line.
