Description
**First Time At Auction**

Pre-Columbian, Mayan Territories, Proto-Mayan to Classic Mayan, ca. 500 BCE to 800 CE. An impressive collection of seven early to classic Mayan pottery items. First, a zoomorphic whistle with an avian head and nub-shaped legs, and a pottery head with a broad face, large ears, and tall headdress. Second, four standing figures with arms bent to their hips: two males with spread legs, wide heads, and large protruding noses; one with a large chest, zoomorphic facial features, and a great bulging chest; and a female figure with small perky breasts, almond-shaped eyes, large ear spools, and an elaborate headdress. Lastly, a brownware pottery vessel with a stable base, tall sides, a deep cavity, and a finely-detailed face with grand ears and a protruding nose. An enjoyable gathering for any collector! Size of largest item: 4.25" W x 4.125" H (10.8 cm x 10.5 cm).
