**Back at auction due to non-paying bidder**
Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, La Tolita, Jama Coaque, ca. 100 BCE - 200 CE. Exemplifying Jama Coaque artistry, three terracotta statuette heads, all mold-made, one adorned with nose-ring, ear ornaments and vibrant red glaze on headdress; another with elaborate shell-shaped ear ornaments, nose-ring, and labret; the third is the smallest example but no less exquisite adorned with iron-rich pigments. All possess finely delineated facial features - how these sculptors could create flesh from clay, this never seizes to amaze me! Largest measures 3 1/4" long x 3" wide.
Provenance: Ex-Adeon Gallery, Chicago, IL, acquired prior to 1970.
