Egypt, Middle to New Kingdom, ca. 2055 to 1540 BCE. A group of four earthtone scarabs, carved from soft stone known as steatite, and etched with hieroglyphic inscriptions of protection, good health, and good fortune. Size of largest: 0.6" L x 0.375" W x 0.25" H (1.5 cm x 1 cm x 0.6 cm).
