Description
Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate Period, 21st to 25th Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 664 BCE. A hand-carved steatite scarab covered in tan-hued glaze. The topside bears characteristic insectile features while the bottom is inscribed with a series of hieroglyphs - including a crowned Horus falcon - for protection. Size: 0.59" L x 0.41" W (1.5 cm x 1 cm)
