The canvas has several long severe tears, and has been badly laid down, leaving some bubbled areas. There are fine cracks left and right on the architecture, and others on the draperies. The dark areas of the draperies have a rough texture due to seperation of the paint. There is a horizontal stretcher mark at center. The entire sky is repainted. There are other retouches on the angel's neck and jawline, the floor and parapet and along most of the cracks. The original stretcher is behind the board.
