Description
Isaac Huger (1743-1979) Revolutionary War General. Huger was commissioned a Brigadier General in the Continental Army in 1779, and participated in every battle of consequence fought by the southern army. He opposed the invasion of Georgia by General Archibald Campbell, commanded the left wing at the battle of Stono Ferry, and was wounded while leading his men. 6 ½” x 8” autograph letter signed, South Carolina, July 16, 1784, to John Houston. “…Permit me to introduce…the bearer of this, the Reverend Mr. Charles Bernicken…a true friend to the United States of America….” There is a small stain in the top margin.
