Item Details
Description
**Originally Listed at $200**

Pre-Columbian, north coast of Peru, Sican/Lambayeque culture, ca. 750 to 1370 CE. A blackware vessel in the form of a man seated with two dogs atop a cuboid body. The spout emerges from the man's headdress, and the handle, decorated with a lizard-like crest, flows from his back to the body of the vessel. He holds one small dog on his lap and the other lies to one side at his feet. Holes pierced through his ears indicate that the piece may have once had earrings of precious metal or possibly of some perishable material like feather. Size: 4.95" L x 3.55" W x 6.45" H (12.6 cm x 9 cm x 16.4 cm)

Provenance: Ex-Ventura County, CA
