Description
A well-preserved Egyptian wooden 'mummy' mask, Late Period, c. 664 – 332 BC, or facial portion from a sarcophagus lid, depicting a male wearing a headdress with central lotus blossom. The features are beautifully rendered and the mask is extremely well-preserved with nearly all of the original pigment remaining. H: 7 3/5 in (19.3cm). Nicely mounted within a custom shadow box. Ex estate of Anita Loos (1889 – 1981), American screenwriter.
