Description
An Egyptian wood 'Mummy' mask, Late Period, c. 664 - 332 BC, the facial portion from a sarcophagus, the features handsome with large almond-shaped eyes and retaining the false beard. A nice example with remnants of the original pigments. 9 ½ in x 5 ¾ in (23.9 x 14.6 cm). Custom lucite base. Ex Ligabue Collection, Venice.
