Egypt, Pre-Dynastic Period, Nagada / Naqada, ca. 3600 to 3200 BCE. An incredible example of early Egyptian pottery, a redware vessel in a teardrop shaped, elongated acorn form with a diminutive neck, rolled rim, and wide mouth - fired to create rich, saturated red hues. Among the most desirable of all ancient potteries, this piece presents a stunning silhouette and is in excellent condition. Custom stand.
