Egyptian Predynastic black speckled breccia bowl, Naqada II c. 3500-3300 BC, with 2 pierced tubular handles. and flat lip. H. 1 3/4 in ( 4.5 cm.). Cf. A. El Khouli, Egyptian stone vessels Predynastic Period to Dynasty III, 1978, no. 2285. Ex Gieringer collection sold at ParkeBernet Galleries, NY, January 28/29, 1959, lot 91, acquired by Dr. Richard LeBaron Bowen, Jr. (1919-2013), Providence, R.I;. thence by descent.
