Description
Pre-Columbian, Colombia/Ecuador, ca. 1000 to 1500 CE. An intriguing terracotta ocarina depicting two animals - one end with the long-beaked head of a avian creature, the other with the long nose and fin of a dolphin - its tail cleverly represents the legs of the bird as well. Nicely finished in a yellow ochre slip with incised and applied details. Size: 4" L (10.2 cm)
