Description
Pre-Columbian, Northern Peru, ca. 500 to 100 BCE. Rare and lovely Vicus pottery whistling vessel. With twin rounded lobes, one with spout, other with bird head - whistles incorporated into head - covered in white slip with added red pigment. A fine example! 9"L x 7-1/2"H.
Provenance: Ex-private D. Jeppesen collection, acquired before 1982.
