Description
SIGNED G. NAKASHIMA WALNUT DESK 1957: Walnut desk with two legs and a pedestal base with three drawers, body of American Walnut, purchased directly from George Nakashima in 1957 while on a visit to the artist's studio. In 1994, the original owner took the piece back to Nakashima's studio and had the piece authenticated by the artist's daughter Mira Nakashima who signed the base of the piece with her signature, date of signing, Nakashima's name and the original date of purchase. Since being purchased directly from the studio, this desk has never been offered on the secondary market and has resided in the personal collection of a respected Bucks County, Pennsylvania Antiques Dealer.
Dimensions: 29”h x 29.75"w x 63.5"l x 1.125" thick top. The base of the top with the signature of Nakashima’s daughter, Mira Nakashima: April 16, 1994 and the original date of purchase, 1957.

Condition
With original finish, free of breaks and repairs, two areas to note on the block base .75”x.25” and is located at the lower right corner and area missing veneer .25” x 1”, is located in the upper left corner. Neither are noticeable with then top is in place.
