third quarter 19th century, attributed to John Jelliff, Newark, New Jersey, consisting of a pair of sofas, each with a central carved portrait bust in the crest and carved female figures on the arm fronts, raised on trumpet turned legs, h. 49", w. 79", d. 35", a double chair-end settee of simple form, h. 40", w. 81", d. 30", two matching open armchairs, h. 43", w. 29", d. 25", a closed armchair, h. 46", w. 29", d. 28", and a similar open armchair, h. 40-1/2", w. 25", d. 24".

Condition
In very good as found condition. The closed armchair is lacking its casters and the legs have been ended out to raise it in height. The chair-end settee is missing one rear caster. The finish on one sofa and the closed armchair is slightly lighter than the other pieces. No signs of losses. The fabric is clean.
