Provenance: Dr. Bob Brictson Collection.
Framed in a vintage hand carved Haitian frame.
Lot Essay:
A naive master, Pierre-Joseph, Gerard Valcin's half brother, was a mechanic and mason before becoming a painter. He is renowned for dreamy contemplative portraiture that captures the movement of everyday actions, living spirits or loas (including the Gedes) and the flora and fauna that accompany them.
