Title: ‘Sandy reclining at home’Albert Wasserman, original oil on canvas – matted and professionally framed. Entitled, ‘Sandy reclining at home’, this portrait depicts a young woman laying across a bed and looking off into the distance. The portrait is signed and dated by the artist in the top-left corner and comes in a wooden frame. Measures approx 28 ” inches in length, 29” inches in height, and 1” inch in width. Property of Brooklyn Estate. portrait, oil painting, wood framed, albert wasserman Albert Wasserman, painter, designer, August 23rd 1920 to January 3rd 1917. Graduated from Evander Childs High School, Bronx, NY. He attended the National Academy of Design and studied with Sidney E. Dickenson and Ivan Olinsky. He also studied at the Art Student’s League with Charles S. Chapman until he was drafted into the Army during WWII. He won a Pulitzer Art Scholarship in 1940 and he won the Obrig Prize in 1941. He was an incredibly prolific artist and considered himself a Realist – impressionist; painting people, portraits and the life around himself. Most of his work is in oil or watercolor and is done from life. He was a member of the Salmagundi Club where he won numerous prizes.
