AN AMERICAN CLASSICAL CARVED MAHOGANY SOFA, EARLY/MID 19TH CENTURY, the tablet crest with carved adorsed scrolled leaf decoration with scrolled ends over a shaped upholstered back over a bench seat within outwardly scrolled upholstered arms with carved flower bloom terminals over acanthus leaf and scale carved "S" scrolled supports over a rectangular flat lozenge above carved wing knees on hairy paw feet, joined by a curved rail, now in brown upholstery with nail head trim. Height: 32 3/4" Width: 84" Depth: 22 1/2"

There are a few mild chips noted, mostly near the arm terminals, and some veneer loss to the rectangular flat lozenge detail with some wood filled repairs. The back legs do not appear to be original. A later finish has been applied, otherwise in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
