Colored engravings of two types of this species, the Leather Turtle and familiar Painted Tortoise. From the Natural History of New York (Amphibians) by DeKay with coloring by William Hill. Only 300 copies were hand colored. Near fine condition (one line of erased pencil notation and light waterstain at top margin).
