Description
PILLAR-MOLDED PINT BAR DECANTER, brilliant deep cobalt blue, conical form with eight pronounced ribs, an applied plain neck ring, and a rounded bar lip with lower collar, rough pontil mark. Attributed to the Pittsburgh area. 1850-1870. 10" H, 5 1/2" DOA base.
Undamaged. Pieces of undissolved metal imbedded in the surface of two ribs halfway between base and neck ring, and two additional ribs at base, all as made.

Provenance: Collection of the late Roger Lee Gehman, Pittsburgh, PA.
