Pillar Figurine, circa 2750 - 1900 B.C. This large Syro-Hittite figurine has bird like facial features, double strand necklace with hands at breast and raised hair. All set on a monolithic body. Ancient encrustations throughout. These figurines are found throughout the region, yet few are of this high quality. Many contain unique features, such as the jewelry and crown that adorn this piece. The hands and necklaces show extremely fine markings to give this figurine a rudimentary form of realism through texture. Dimensions: 6-1/2" H; Weight: 3 oz.
