German Enamel Decorated Animated Singing Bird Box. Gilt brass box is enamel decorated with a scene of 2 men in a forest with a woman on a swing on the oval lid; the 4 sides of the case have round centered scenic panels with cobalt and white enamel borders. Operated by a switch in the front, the lid lifts up and exposes the small animated feathered bird which flaps its wings and swivels back and forth while whistling a tune. In good condition, has a nice gilt finish with no damage or losses, bird has nice brisk movement and good strong sound; bottom of the case is signed with E.B. in an oval case makers mark and “Germany”. 1.75 in. high x 4 in. wide x 2.5 in. deep.
