Description

A very old and well handled wooden sculpture from the Luba peoples of the DRC/ Congo, central Africa. This female idol has an undeniable well worn patina, please note the extremely well worn arms and deeply patianated surface, there is little doubt this is an old field used example. Such idols were used by Luba diviners in ritual ceremonies. Measures 8 inches tall ( 9.75 inches tall on wooden base.)
